Could It Be PMDD?
The symptoms of PMDD include:
Feeling depressed, hopeless or negative about yourself
Feeling anxious, tense, or "on edge"
Mood swings (for example, feeling suddenly sad or tearful or being more sensitive to rejection than usual)
Persistent anger or irritability, or increased conflicts with others
Decreased interest in your usual activities, such as work, school, friends, hobbies
Trouble concentrating
Feeling tired or a lack of energy
Change in appetite, overeating, or specific food cravings
Sleeping more than usual, or having trouble falling or staying asleep
Feeling overwhelmed or out of control
Physical symptoms, such as breast tenderness or swelling, headaches, joint or muscle pain, feeling bloated, or weight gain
If this sounds like you, it may not be PMS. It may be PMDD. The best way to be sure that your symptoms are the result of PMDD is to talk with your doctor.
